Hardware Configuration |
You need 3 pieces of information to setup the hardware for each KTx I/O channel:
- How to setup the IRQ.
- How to setup the dual port memory address.
- How to wire and connect the remote I/O cabling.
Note
For any PCI -KTx card, items 1 and 2 from the
above list are handled automatically for you by the PCI bios or the Linux
kernel. On the other hand, for ISA cards, see
Allen-Bradley's publication 1784-6.5.22, Communication Interface Card
(Cat. Nos. 1784-KTX, 1784-KTXD, and 1784-KTS) User Manual. This
publication comes with the KTx card from Allen-Bradley. Most all you need is in
chapters 2 and 4 of that manual.
